# Easily import and manage your CSV

# Before you import your data on Spendesk

1. Review your template in your **Settings**.

1. What is the decimal delimiter for numeric values [.] or [,]?
2. What is the column delimiter for the CSV [,] or [;]?
2. [Export your journals](http://helpcenter.spendesk.com/en/articles/4859175-bookkeep-2-0-prepare-your-monthly-closing) or data from Spendesk (**Bookkeep > Export**).

# Once your data's exported on Excel

1. Import your data via the "**Import**" function
2. Select the correct column delimiter [,] or [;]
3. Select the correct decimal delimiter [.] or [,]

# Three simple steps to import a CSV to Excel

## Import your data via the "Import" function

Open a new Excel spreadsheet (do not double-click on the CSV).

Go on "**File**" and then on "**Import**".

Select "**CSV file**" and click on "**Import**".

Select your Spendesk journal and click on "**Get data**".

Please make sure that the **import action is set to "Delimited"** and that the **start import at row is set to "1".**

* Please change the **File origin to "Unicode (UTF-8)"**
* Click **Next.**

## Select the correct column delimiter [ , ] or [ ; ]

* Please select your **delimiters [ , ] or [ ; ]** (depending on your setup on Spendesk) and click on **Next.**

## Select the correct decimal delimiter [ . ] or [ , ]

* Click on "**Advanced**" and verify the decimal separator [ . ] or [ , ] (depending on your setup on Spendesk).
* Click on **Finish** and select whether you want to import the data into the existing sheet or a new sheet.

# Three simple steps to import a CSV to Google Sheets

* Go to **File** and then **Import.**

Go to the **Upload** option and select the CSV file to upload.

* Select the correct delimiter [ , ] or [ ; ] and make sure to select the option **"convert text to numbers, dates, and formulas"**

Tip: if you are using a Macintosh computer, feel free to open the document in **Numbers** and then save it as CSV - UTF-8. This way, when you open it in Excel, you will obtain a readable format.

Also, if you are using Google Drive, the format should be correct.

If not, use one of the solutions above!
