# Transfer the Account / Organization Owner roles

**Important :**  
Each Spendesk account has **only one designated** **Account** **Owner**.

You have the flexibility to **transfer this role** to another confirmed member.

To change the Account Owner or Organisation Owner roles in Spendesk you have two options:

* **Temporarily** delegate the Account Owner role
* **Permanently** transfer the Account Owner or Organisation Owner roles to another user

Both of these can be done by clicking the **Profile** menu in the bottom left and selecting **My Profile -> Roles and Permissions:**

# Temporary delegation of the Account Owner role

If you are going on leave and want to temporarily give another user the role, use the **Delegate your approval rights temporarily** button. This will open a simple confirmation dialog for you to select the user:

# Permanent transfer of the Account Owner or Organization Owner role

If you are leaving the company or need to permanently transfer the role for another reason, use the **Request your account ownership to be transferred permanently** button (or equivalent for **organisation ownership** for a multi-entity organisation).

For organization owner transfer, ensure that the member receiving Organization ownership is already a member on all wallets.

Note that this may require some additional verification to take place, requiring the following information as well as some time for our team to review the request:

* ID proof of the new account holder
* Power of attorney
* Proof of identity of the legal representative delegating the power of attorney (if applicable)
* Nominative email address of the account holder
* Account holder's telephone number
* City and country of birth

Upon becoming an Account Owner, the member also gains roles as a `Requester`, `Controller`, and `Administrator`.

The same applies to the Organization Owner, but additionally they will be able to **create a new wallet if necessary.**
