# How to create and share dashboards in Crisp Analytics

*Create and share a custom dashboard in Crisp Analytics so your team can review the reports that matter in one place.*

For example, a support manager can look at volume, response speed, and customer feedback together instead of opening each report separately. Build a layout around a clear question, choose charts and filters that help answer it, then decide whether the Dashboard should stay private or be shared with teammates.

If you’re new to the reports, start with [Crisp Analytics](https://help.crisp.chat/en/article/getting-started-with-the-crisp-analytics-fwul5i/) to understand the available data before choosing charts.

|| Crisp Analytics is available with the [Essentials and Plus plans](https://crisp.chat/en/pricing/).

Open **📊 Analytics → Dashboards** to see the **Default Dashboard** and any custom Dashboards you have created or imported. Each Dashboard is a saved layout of charts powered by your existing Analytics reports and metrics.

#### ${color}[#405e80](Create a new Dashboard)

1. Go to **Analytics → Dashboards** and click **Create new dashboard**.
2. Choose **Blank Dashboard**.
3. Enter the **Dashboard name**.
4. Enable **Share this dashboard** if workspace operators with Analytics access should be able to view and edit it.
5. Click **Create Dashboard**.

You can now add charts. Choosing a template instead creates a private Dashboard immediately; use **⋯ (More) → Edit** afterwards to rename or share it. To reuse a JSON configuration, choose **Import Dashboard**. See [Import or export a Dashboard](https://help.crisp.chat/en/article/how-to-import-export-analytics-dashboards-30678w/) to reuse an existing configuration.

You can also [ask Hugo Copilot to create a chart or Dashboard](https://help.crisp.chat/en/article/how-to-use-hugo-copilot-in-analytics-6phroc/) from a reporting goal, then review its proposal before saving it.

#### ${color}[#405e80](Add your first chart)

1. Open your Dashboard and click **Add chart**.
2. Select the chart type you need.
3. Select a **Metric** from a category such as **Messaging**, **Contacts**, **Knowledge Base**, **Status Page**, or **Visitors**, then choose the available metric type and split.
4. Give the chart a clear title and adjust its options if needed.
5. Click **Create**.

![The Add chart dialog with a metric and compatible chart type selected, followed by the resulting chart in the Dashboard](https://screenshots.invalid/the-add-chart-dialog-with-a-metric-and-compatible-chart-type-selected-followed-by-the-resulting-chart-in-the-dashboard.png =800xauto)

__Common chart types include:__
* **Summary** → single KPI with comparison
* **Chart** → line, bar, or treemap depending on the metric
* **Heatmap** → activity across days and hours
* **Map** → geographical data
* **Articles** → Knowledge Base article performance
* **Operators** → operator-level performance data
* **Rating** → customer feedback details

Choose the format to fit the question. A **Summary** helps readers see a headline number for the period, while a compatible line or bar chart shows when it changed.

#### ${color}[#405e80](Configure chart settings)

Open a chart’s configuration to select its period, split, aggregation, and filters, then click **Apply** to use your changes. For the shared controls and supported combinations, see [Customize Analytics reports](https://help.crisp.chat/en/article/getting-started-with-the-crisp-analytics-fwul5i/#1-customize-analytics-reports).

For example, use a segment filter to focus on VIP conversations, then split a compatible metric by operator. Check [the metric definitions](https://help.crisp.chat/en/article/understand-crisp-analytics-metrics-draft0005/) before comparing response or resolution times.

#### ${color}[#405e80](Arrange and manage Dashboard charts)

Once you have added a few charts, use each chart menu to keep the Dashboard clean. Rename charts so their purpose is obvious, remove charts your team does not use, and keep the layout focused on the questions the Dashboard should answer.

__Use names that explain the scope:__
* ${color}[#33c620](✔) **Clear scope:** *“First response time for VIP conversations.”*
* ${color}[#ec491a](✘) **Uninformative name:** *“Chart 3.”*

Keep periods and filters comparable when reading charts together; otherwise a difference may come from the reporting setup rather than your support performance.

After you create a chart or apply its settings, Crisp saves the Dashboard configuration automatically.

# ${color}[#1575dd](Share and reuse Dashboards)

Share a Dashboard when teammates should maintain the same reporting view together. Before enabling it, agree on the charts and filters the team needs, since shared access also lets eligible colleagues change that view.

#### ${color}[#405e80](Share a Dashboard with teammates)

Dashboards are private by default: only you can view and edit a private Dashboard. Enable **Share this dashboard** when creating one to make it available to workspace operators who have Analytics access.

![Share this dashboard option in the Analytics Dashboard creation dialog](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/8/7/a/e/87ae2703583ac800/crisp-analytics-shared-dashboa_3p007j.png =600xauto)

|| Sharing gives eligible teammates permission to **edit** the Dashboard as well as view it. Their changes affect the reporting view the team uses.

#### ${color}[#405e80](Share an existing Dashboard)

You can also share a Dashboard that you originally kept private.

1. Open **Analytics → Dashboards** and hover over the Dashboard.
2. Click **⋯ (More) → Edit**.
3. Enable **Share this dashboard**.
4. Click **Save Dashboard**.

The Dashboard then appears in the list for teammates with Analytics access. To make it private again, return to the same setting, turn sharing off, and save.

#### ${color}[#405e80](Understand what is saved)

Dashboard configurations are saved in Crisp. They organize existing Analytics reports with your preferred charts, filters, and visualizations; they do not create new data sources or metrics.

Your reporting period, timezone, and other Analytics preferences also sync with your account. Browser storage keeps a local copy; clearing it is different from deleting a saved Dashboard.

Use [Dashboard templates](https://help.crisp.chat/en/article/dashboard-templates-for-customer-support-teams-1f02z4o/) if you prefer to start from a ready-made layout.
