# How to create and send an email from the inbox

__Start an outbound email conversation directly from the Crisp Inbox when you need to contact a customer first.__

Crisp is not limited to incoming conversations. You can also create a new email conversation yourself from the Inbox, which is useful for follow-ups, manual outreach, or continuing an existing customer relationship from one shared workspace.

| This feature is meant for conversational email, such as one-to-one follow-ups or small recipient groups. For bulk sends, use [Campaigns](https://crisp.chat/campaigns/).

# What you need before starting

Before you create an outbound email, make sure email is enabled in your workspace and that you have the contact details you want to use.

__The two key details you need are:__

* ****Full name****
* ****Email address****

# Create a new email conversation

Open your Inbox in [**Crisp**](https://app.crisp.chat), then use the ****More actions**** menu in the lower-left area of the inbox and click ****Create a new conversation****.

Enter the contact's full name and email address, then choose the email channel if prompted.

Once the conversation is created, write your email in the composer and click ****Send Message****.

# Useful things to know

#### Add more recipients when needed

If the conversation needs other recipients in copy, you can add them as participants after the email thread is created.

#### Start from a contact profile

You can also start a new email conversation from a contact profile when you are already looking at that user's details in Crisp.
